In this blog, we are going to continue right where we left off with from last week’s episode covering Stage 2 Diaphragmatic Breathing. This week, we’re going to be covering the third and final stage of your professional diaphragmatic breathing technique.
If you have been practicing, you will have hopefully got down the 80% diaphragmatic breath and the 10% bronchial breath technique that I have showed you. If you haven’t got that down, then I recommend you go back to last week’s segment, practice up and then give this a try. Don’t move forward until you’ve got the first part of the 80/10 technique down and you are feeling confident with this.
What we are simply going to be doing here today is joining both of those breaths – 80% of your air into the diaphragm and 10% into your bronchi (otherwise known as your lungs!) together simultaneously. Watch me from the side and then from the front. This is how I want you to breath.
This is called a dual 80-10 breath. With this one you are really going to need to watch the segment and see how I physically explain and show this. Look at my hands and look at how my whole chest expands. It sounds simple but it can take some practice! Practice feeling both parts of your lungs expand at the same time – this is going to be a very important technique that I want you to get down.
